The Challenge

Drive footfall and increase average transaction values within World Duty Free stores across 22 UK airports over the traditionally high traffic summer months

The Strategy

Exploiting our learning from previous WDF campaigns – that money off vouchers valid against specific spend thresholds raise both sales volume and average transaction values – we created a compelling new promotional mechanic for 2011.

Our ‘£5 million Giveaway Getaway’ involves game cards that must be opened to reveal cash prizes and money off vouchers. A total of 500,000 cards will be distributed in departure lounges and at store entrances

The Results

Initial results indicate a significant lift in average transaction values – up over 300% – as passengers use their game card to secure extra savings.
