At KHWS, we are proud to actively give back to the wider community. The KHWS 360 team meet regularly to support and help charities. Whether it’s creating new marketing material and web content or coming up with innovative ways to raise money, we are always on the lookout for new ways to help.
We are currently working with the following charities – all great causes in their own right:
The Encephalitis Society (TES)
Encephalitis is inflammation of the brain, which can be life-threatening and can kill. Those affected can develop symptoms such as confusion, seizures, personality changes, difficulty speaking and even loss of consciousness – many of those affected may never fully recover. TES was set up in 1994 to not only support those affected and their families, but to also generate awareness and conduct research to gain a better understanding of a disease that is so little known about, yet affects so many.
The 360 Team have refreshed some of their key marketing material, updating the creative look and feel to make a complicated subject friendlier to read/understand, as well as regularly updating their Pairs Game feature on their website. Moving forward, we will also be looking to update their logo and identity.
The Schools Consent Project (SCP)
The SCP was set up by a team of dedicated volunteers to get young people talking about sexual consent. Run by lawyers in their free time, they offer secondary school workshops to provide information about consent and what it means, with the hope of normalising conversations about this topic in order to challenge sexually harmful attitudes.
After a successful meeting late 2016, the 360 team refreshed their logo and conducted an audit of all their marketing material. We also produced brand guidelines for the project and moving forward, will suggest ways in which to make their website and communications work harder for them.
St John Ambulance (SJA)
St John Ambulance is the nation’s leading first aid charity. Every year, more than 400,000 people learn how to save a life through their training programmes. Not only do they provide first aid training, they also work alongside the NHS in response to 999 calls.
In 2016, KHWS raised over £2,000 for SJA by carol singing, running marathons and jumping out of planes 12,000 feet up! We also supported them with ideas for their fundraising challenge – Big Money Heroes.
Founded by Dr Johnson Beharry VC – a well deserving recipient of the Victoria Cross – the foundation’s aim is to help young people leave a life of street gangs and get them into further education, apprenticeships or work. After a great first meeting earlier this month, the 360 Team will be helping the foundation to give their marketing communications and website a face lift, all with the aim of reaching out to new sponsors and generating awareness.
We are always on the lookout for new charities to support, so if you are involved in a local charity looking for a helping hand, email one of the 360 members at the addresses below to see how we could help you.
